This paper got known as "mate lustroso" and is probably the type of paper used predominantly in 1940!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03358172193942896430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1658705105288019970.post-82999425295295952092011-04-23T16:44:24.539-03:002011-04-23T16:44:24.539-03:00Guillermo,
I hope you do not mind my English!
Yo...Guillermo,

I hope you do not mind my English!

Your work is excellent! Don't get upset by me adding a few comments!

It is very special that you can see the diagonals from the front! I am not surprised as I had always suspected the wire side of the stamp paper having been used for printing in this case!

It is the wire side being responsible for the diagonals! The felt side of the paper - the side of the paper that gets the watermark from the dandy-roll - is present here at the back of the stamp! At the gummed side.

This all means that the watermark is not the RA type but the AЯ type. The RA type had AЯ reading on the dandy-roll and the AЯ type had RA reading on the dandy-roll... All Argentina stamps in the 1935-1953 period had the RA type - so it was thought - and this changed in 1953 with the Zárate papers! Most likely all of them have the AЯ type - i.e. the wire side is always at the front of the stamps!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03358172193942896430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1658705105288019970.post-5887946426286597432011-04-22T17:49:21.371-03:002011-04-22T17:49:21.371-03:00Excelente trabajo, muy claro y completo!!!!Excelente trabajo, muy claro y completo!!!!Pablo (yo)https://www.blogger.com/profile/12778686167736802179noreply@blogger.com
